July Journal Prompts

20160628_113910.jpg

The month of July brings us to the end of an academic year (for all students, teachers and parents anyway) which means the summer holidays are upon us. I like to use these 6 weeks to reflect and re-evaluate my goals and plans. I also like to get re-organised…ready for the kids going back to school. Some people spring clean…but I like to summer sort! But it isn’t all about goals, cleaning and de-cluttering. Every summer holidays I like to try and have as much fun as I can with the kids while they are off school and make the most of the time we have got.

For this month’s journal prompts I have designed them so you can reflect on the last 6 month, re-evaluate your current goals and maybe add some more plans to your agenda that you have been putting off. But I will also add some sunny and happy journal prompts to get you thinking about what you want to do during the coming summer days.

Q40 #3 Creative Journalling ‘100 Creative Journal Prompt Challenge’

Q40 #3 #missrachelbprompts.jpg

Hello 🙂

Today I have another journal entry for you, for the ‘100 Creative Journal Prompt Challenge’, with another process video to co-along side it. And I also have an announcement!

Firstly, if you are new here the ‘100 Creative Journal Prompt Challenge’ is a competition I am hosting. All you have to do to enter is download the 100 Creative Journal Prompt Challenge PDF file and start completing as many entries as you can before August 2016. The first 3 people to reach 100 or the first 3 people with the most entries by the end date wins a Personalised Handmade Journal made by me. To learn more about how to join in with the fun click here.

And that brings me to my announcement…

WE HAVE OUR FIRST WINNER

The winner is journal_squish.plant on Instagram. She is a young journal writer from Texas and I am so proud that someone that young had decided to join in AND she went ahead and won. Well done journal_squish.plant 🙂

When I asked her what kind of journal she would like, she mentioned 3 requirements;

  1. To be pastel and black themed.
  2. To include her favourite quote… which is “Its a good thing to be strange, Normalness leads to sadness” – Phil Lester (I think this may also be my favourite quote now).
  3. To include Pastel Kawaii Alpacas.

I really was not expecting someone to win so soon, she actually finished her prompts about 2 weeks ago… however, I explained that I had some things to do first then I would get started. Well it is almost finished now and I can eventually get it sent out to her. I will share the finished journal with you guys when she has confirmed she has received it safely.

So back to my entry for today, I choose question 40…which is;

What is the best book you have ever read and why?

Lable Maker Stickers.jpg

Last week my plan was to do a 2 page spread but half way through I changed my mind and only used one page, so I already had a painted page to work on. (Click Here to check out last weeks entry)

First, I just used some Distress inks and stencils to give the page a little extra interest then I got to work with today entry.

I printed off some pictures of the book cover and the author –  that I found on Pinterest and created a card ‘like’ flip to put them in with my journalling. I wont go into to much detail here because I have a YouTube process video for you to watch.

Please thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for more videos. I am really enjoying making them, but I would really love to know if you actually like them… Click here to be taken to my channel to subscribe.

If you would like me to make a certain video on something just contact me and I will see what I can do. If I am going to make videos, I want them to be as enjoyable for you to watch, as much as I enjoy making them 🙂

Here is some close up pictures;

Week 7 – 9 Project Life Share

Week 7 - 9 Project Life Share.jpg

Hello 🙂

Today I have a Project Life Share for you. I was off on a good start in March when I ‘officially’ started but during the month of April, I let myself fall behind. So I have changed my routine up a little bit and downsized the weekly spread from 2 pages to 1 page. 2 pages was just to much for every week. And to be honest, I always forget to take photos and every pocket, ends up multiple photos of the same…if you know what I mean.

I think next year, I will downsize again and only to project life monthly (and in a smaller album). This is not because I am not enjoying it, because I am…it is because not much really goes on in my life from week to week to document.

I knew when I started Project Life that it would be trail and error at first and I am still just finding my feet and working out what works into my life and what doesn’t. So my album is a bit all over the place…but this does not bother me to much as it is just my ‘first edition’.

OK, now that I have blabbered on a little bit, lets actually get into today post…

Recently I have been obsessed with all the Simple Stories Collections. So all the following layouts have been done using them collections.

Week 7

Week 7 Project Life 3.jpg

This weeks layout is the ‘So Fancy’ Collection. This has got to be my favourite collection so far. I just love all the papers and cut a parts.

Quick question for anyone that may know… Here in the UK it is really hard to get your hands on certain supplies that we want, having to make do with what we can get or pay for international shipping. Does anyone know of any UK based scrap-booking kits I could subscribe to? I really like the Hip-Kit Club releases but… I just would really rather save the money I would have to spend on the shipping for more craft supplies. If anyone knows of one…could you leave a comment down below or use my ‘Contact Me’ page to let me know. it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance 🙂

So here is a slide show of the rest of Week 7…

Well that’s all I have today for you…I wish everyone a very happy Sunday and all the best for next week. Happy scrapping… Scrappy friends 🙂
