Its inspirational woman’s week this week and I really struggled choosing just one inspirational woman. I have lots of strong female role models in my family and didn’t want to just choose one. And I admire lots of ‘Girl Bosses’ in the public eye, like authors, singers and actresses. So after writing a big long list of woman who are ‘killing it’ and who I feel inspires me…I eventually narrowed it down to one….The one and only Queen Bey!
Because let’s face it guys…Beyoncé is just awesome! Apart from being so stunningly beautiful, she kicks ass in all aspects of life… from her amazing career as a singer, song writer and actress to her gorgeous family.
So for my Project I made a ‘Beyoncé’ themed Paper Bag Card using Papercakes new Slay It Girl collection. I found the perfect image with a quote on of Beyoncé that matched the Slay It Girl collection perfectly.
In my video I have the process of how it all came together…
So that’s all from me today… until next time ‘Keep on Slaying’!
I am back with this super cute Exploding Box Mini Album using the LOVE BITES collection from Papercakes by Serena Bee. I used all my favourite papers from the 8×8 pack and paired it with the elements from the same collection.
The ‘You make my heart explode’ sentiment went perfect for this project. I have been wanting to make an exploding box for so long and the sentiment inspired me to take the leap and do it. And I am so glad I did because it has turned out beautiful and looks amazing in my room next to my picture I made using an enlarged 3 x 4 journaling card and the decorated Heidi Swapp marquee letter I created using the same collection.
Here is what it looks like open…
I can’t wait to add all my pictures. It used a silhouette cut file to create this album and it was much easier than I thought to put it all together. I found some paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts that matched the colours from the LOVE BITES collection perfectly.

So that is all from me today…I would really love it if you re-create anything from this little mini series…could you please share the crafty love over on Instagram by tagging me or using the hashtag #14daysofcraftylove .
(This is a re-post from Papercakes blog, first published on December 16th 2016)
I am so excited to show you my first project for Papercakes Designs Team, ‘Sandy Claws’ On the Shelf. This project was inspired by Serena’s Creepy Christmas Collection. It reminds me a little of ‘The Nightmare before Christmas’ and my children and I are big fans of Jack Skellington.
Before I created this project, I was researching ‘The Elf on the Shelf’ tradition to start for my children… which give me the idea to combine ‘The Nightmare before Christmas’ with ‘The Elf on the Shelf’…which become ‘Sandy Claws’ on the shelf.
At first I wasn’t sure how I could incorporate this idea with the collection…But the presents, skull garland and stocking icons, gave me the idea to create ‘Sandy Claws’ his very own cosy Christmas sitting room to sit in on the shelf.
This is what I came up with;
I created the Xmas tree with black glitter card stock using my Silhouette Cameo, Click Here for the same cut file. I used some bling as baubles…using a little extra glue, I placed 2 bits of the same bling back to back on the edge of the Christmas tree branches.
For the presents under the tree, I used some of the present icons from the Creepy Xmas Collection and the Snow Day Collection. The presents have tabs on them to keep them up-right. This is another reason why I like digital scrapbooking designs because you can manipulate them to suit the needs of your projects in whatever way you like.
I used some more icons from the Creepy Xmas Collection to dress the fireplace…Jack and Sally have their very own Christmas stockings. The ‘Making Christmas’ ornament on top of the fireplace is actually a sentiment from the Creepy Xmas Collection… I also added tabs on the back of that to keep it upright.
‘Sandy Claws’ Chair
The paper I used to create Sandy Claws chair was actually a 3×4 journaling card from the Creepy Xmas Collection, I manipulated the size of the journaling card in on my silhouette to suit my needs.
The chair is meant to hold a gift card in the bottom, but I created a little ‘Accordion Mini Album’ to hide in there. I used some more of the Creepy Xmas icons to decorate the hidden mini album.
I also added a couple of coin envelopes in to save ephemera bits. The mini album will be great to document all the mischief Sandy Claws gets up to this Xmas.
Here is the back of the Accordion Mini Album… I used some icons from the Snow Day Collection for this.
And here is what the mini album looks like open. To make this I cut 3 pieces of paper to size and folded them in half. I then glued them all together to create the accordion style album.
And here is Jack just chilling on my shelf waiting for the Christmas mischief to start!
Well that is all from for now, I hope you decide to make your very own ‘Sandy Claws’ on the shelf. It doesn’t have to be ‘Sandy Claws’, you could make the same thing for your elf. If you do recreate this project I would love to see some pictures, tag me on them on Instagram. Here’s some links to where you can find me online.
