4 Sided Slider Card Tutorial – Interactive Mini Album Piece
Step by step instructions on how to craft an interactive 4 sided slider card to include in your mini albums.
Supplies you will need…
- Cardstock (any colour you want)
- Decorative Cardstock (I used Simple Stories ‘Romance’ Collection)
- Plastic pocket folder
- Wet glue
- Double sided sticky tape
- Scoring board
- Paper trimmer
- Scissors
- Corner rounder punch
Measurements
Cardstock
- 2 pieces of 4 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ – scored at 1/2″, 4 3/4″ & 9″
- 2 pieces of 4 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ – Scored at 1/2″
- 4 pieces of 4″ x 4 3/4″
Decorative Cardstock
- 1 piece of 4″ x 4″
- 4 pieces of 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
– and last but not least
You will need some plastic sheeting. I used a plastic pocket folder and cut 2 pieces from the top at 3″
Instructions
Step 1
Cut all your cardstock pieces to size and score your folds in using the measurements above.
Step 2
Divide all your pieces in half and put 1 half to the side…
Step 3
Cut off the corner’s from the tabs you scored…
Step 4
Glue the 4 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ to the 4 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ together using the tab. You will now have 1 piece with 3 sections with a tab at each end.
Step 5
Round off 1 side of your 4″ x 4 3/4″ cardstock and 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ decorative cardstock using your corner rounder punch. You can now adhere your decorative paper to the cardstock using the adhesive of your choice.
Step 6
Now it is time to cut your plastic pocket folder. I cut 3″ from the top then cut off the binding holes.
Step 7
Going back to your first piece, wrap the plastic around the middle section, using some double sided sticky tape to adhere it together. Then you can cut off the excess.
This is the mechanism that allows your pull out bits to slide in and out.
Step 8
Place some more double sided sticky tape to the left hand side of the plastic mechanism. Then you can adhere your first sliding pull out in place.
Step 9
Next flip your pieces over and repeat the last step… however, when adhering your second pull out piece, ensure your pattern is facing down.
Step 10
Now fold 1 section over and 1 section under. (Watch the video tutorial for demonstration)
Step 11
Next fold in the tabs and glue them to the middle section. (Be care to avoid glueing the tabs to the pull out bits)
You have now completed your first slider piece. You could stop here if you just want a 2 sided slider card but for the 4 sider slider… carry on to step 12.
Step 12
Repeat instructions from step 3 to step 11 to create another 2 sided slider card. Then all you need to do is adhere those 2 pieces together. I used wet glue so I had the time to move it around into the correct placement.
Step 13
Now, last but not least… adhere your 4″ x 4″ decorative paper to the front of your 4 sided slider card.
And your done! Yeeey!
