Project Share // Shabby Chic Mini Album
Check out this awsome Shabby Chic Mini Album...
Hello Lovely People,
I have been working on a project for a customer/friend of mine called Hayley…(Hi Hayley…)
…and I just thought I would come on and share it with you guys.
Hayley wanted a Shabby Chic Mini Album she could but pictures in of herself and her friends to capture her memories in one lovely place. She didn’t ask for much personalisation so I kind of had free reign with this one. And I can tell you I have really enjoyed making it and I love it that much I wish I could keep it hehe.
This mini album is 7 by 7 inches and is bound using the We Are Memory Keepers Cinch rings. The front and back cover are chipboard pieces covered with black card stock. There are 10 inside pages which are all pockets with ‘pulley out bits’ where she can add more photos front and back. The patterned paper I used is digital and I bought it from an Etsy seller called AMBillustrations.
I absolutely love all the floral designs in the digital paper package. I am really digging digital paper at the moment because they are so versatile. You can print them off any size you want and you don’t have to worry about running out because you have an endless supply of your favourite designs. I will defiantly be using more digital papers in the future.
I have designed this mini albums to hold about 60 photos all together. The ribbon closure I have installed on it, is very long and at the minute wraps around the book twice. I have done it like this because it leaves wiggle room as it expands. I imagine when it is full with photos it will look absolutely gorgeous sitting on a shelf all open and chunky… (I love chunky books, proves they are full of love and memories).
I made a DIY Polaroid picture shaker frame with the quote “Because every picture has a story to tell…” as the main focal embellishment for the front cover. I absolutely love the effect of it. I then embellished around the frame with the gorgeous Wild Orchid Craft Flowers and some DIY fluttering butterflies. I love a good old flower cluster. I then finished it off with a pink bow and some enamel dots.
I kept the first page simple with just a bow and quote card for embellishment.
(Side Note: another reason I like digital paper so much is because you can create your own journaling cards, quote cards and extra embellishments with the same collection to keep your projects all matchy)
On the other side I printed off a picture of Hayley and did a little scrapbook layout page…as like an introduction to the book for her. The tag on the side can be pulled out so she can do some journaling on it.
Throughout the book I include 2 pocket pages, 2 belly band pages and a few tuck spots for tags or picture Matts. All the picture Matts I included are made with black card stock and the digital paper. There are also some long and narrow photo matts which are just paper clipped into the book which will be perfect for ‘picture booth’ or ‘passport photo’ style photographs.

I also included some interactive pages…like a magnet flip page and a little flippy booklet thing to give the book a little bit extra interest…and also more room for pictures.
Here is the video I made showing you a closer and more detailed look;
