Week 6 Project Life Process – First EVER YouTube Video

Hello 🙂

Firstly, I would just like to apologise for not posting the past couple of weeks, I have had so much going on…which I will explain about later on in the week.

However, I can discuss one thing I have been busy with…and that is (drum rolls please) I have made my first ever YouTube video YEY! It is something I have been wanting to do for a while now but I have been putting it off as I was afraid. But if you have read any of my past posts, you will know that I have said that I am trying to push myself out of my comfort zone more and more each day. So this to me is a very big deal.

I was just going to start catching up on my project life (because I let myself fall behind) and when I was half way through the first card…I just thought. What the hell, I will film this and see how it turns out. Without the actual intention of posting it. But after the editing process, I thought…why not! Just get it up, what is stopping me and if I don’t do it now. Will I ever?

The video footage isn’t perfect, but I have learnt so much from just this one try and hopefully my video quality will get better with more practise. So because of this I thought I would show you some pictures of the final layout.

Filming the Footage

I made a 2 page layout in a 12 by 12 album so this video became very long video. Plus, because I was so aware of the camera being on me…it made me very nervous, resulting with me rushing through the process. When I was half way through I had decided I didn’t like the layout but I still carried on filming. But once I ‘thought’ I knew for sure I wasn’t going to upload it and no one was going to see it. I started to relax and I began to get my mojo back. By the end when i got all the cards together, I realised that the layout wasn’t too bad after all. In fact I quite like it now. It isn’t my favourite layout I have done so far, but I still like it.

The Editing Process

Once I uploaded the video footage from my camera on to the computer, I did some basic editing and tried to upload it to YouTube…only to realise, that it would only let me post videos that were 15 minutes long. My video was over 30 minutes (and that was after editing) so I had to split my video into 2 parts.

Voice Over

OK, this bit I really struggled with! I really don’t like hearing my voice back and I wasn’t going to do one. I was just going to upload the video with music behind but I figured…when I watch videos, I like to listen to people talk. So I pushed myself further out my comfort zone.

It felt really strange talking to my computer but I persisted and eventually got a voice over that I added. I had made about 10 altogether! I got so sick of watching it and saying the same things I just added the one with the least mistakes and ‘embarrassing’ bits. So please my friends be kind LOL!

I did it…Yey!

I would love it if you could subscribe to me or like the video so I know you like it, which will let me know that you guys would like to see more. Also please leave me a comment down below and tell me what you think. I would love to hear your feedback.
