Yet another Project Share // Teacher Memory Book

Teacher Memory Book.jpg

Hi :)

I am back again with yet another project share (told you I have been busy this month). This time I am sharing this little Teacher Memory Book I made for my sons teacher as an end of year gift. This has been my favourite so far because I made it more my style. Fun and girly. I was in my comfort zone.

Teacher Memory Book 5

I used the Creative Agenda Collection Kit and pink card stock for this book and it’s pretty straight forward really. I backed the front and back chipboard piece and added a mixture of patterned paper and card stock for the inside pages. I also made this book to fit into another one of my Kikki K boxes.

Creative Agenda

I designed this book for her to capture her favourite moments as a teacher, the scrapbook paper is for a class photo followed but the plain paper for her students to give them their first autograph. This book should last her 7 school years. As I only used the scrapbook paper from this collection I couldn’t make it any bigger.

Teacher Memory Book 2

I only used this paper collection and nothing else, I lie, I used a few die cuts for the front cover but only one or two and the rest is made completely with the paper pack. Which is so good, it saved me from finding matching things because everything matched anyway. It took some thought process away from me. Which was good for now as I have been so busy…creating this was like a little break.

Teacher Memory Book 4

For the front cover I just did some layering and spelt Kaidan’s teachers name on the front with the alphas from the collection. I then just but a few embellishing bits around and some tiny word stickers and the book was finished.

Here is a quick flip-trough video I made, if you would like to check it out;

I personally love it, (if I do say so myself) what do you guys think? Leave me a comment down below.

Another Project Share – Wedding Guest Book

Wedding Guest Book YouTube Thumbnail.jpg

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another project share. I have been so busy creating this month…it’s been great! However, it’s been a test on my productivity to get them completed on a schedule.

Today’s project I will be sharing with you is a Wedding Guest Book/ Photo Book.

This book is 7 by 9 inches because I made it to fit perfectly in a Kikki K box that one of my planners came in (you got to recycle). The colours from the box went perfectly with the colours from the book.

Wedding Guest Book in box

I started by cutting the front and back chipboard covers to size and backed it with First Edition Paper by Katie Pertiet…the collection is called The Promise. Then I cut several pieces of paper to size from the same collection to fit inside.

Wedding Guest Book 8

I then purchased a digital file from an Etsy store called AmazingClipart of silhouettes of a married couple in different poses. I printed the images onto cream card stock to be placed in the bottom right hand corner of every other page.

I also borrowed a passage / poem I found on Pinterest to print onto the cream card stock for the introduction page. The passage read;

A precious collection of memories, this guest book is meant to be. Take your time and collect your thoughts, then write them down for posterity. You might choose words of wisdom, encouragement or a joke. Possibly a poem, a funny drawing or a wedding anecdote. Whatever your means of expression, our gratitude we cannot measure. This guest book will be, no doubt, an heirloom we will treasure.

Then I printed the happy couples name and date of the wedding onto another piece of paper, which I used a big circle die cutter to cut it out.

After I cut the paper to size with the printed images and writing on, I also added a piece of velum to add at the front before the introduction page. Then it was ready for the binding!

Wedding Guest Book 10

For the front cover I added the circle die cut, another die cut I did of a wedding dress and a silhouette I had printed out and fussy cut. After they were down, I finished it off with the gorgeous Wild Orchid Craft flowers.

Check out the flip through I did for a closer look;

This book is the perfect book for a wedding as people can leave a message for the bride and groom and then the bride and groom can add pictures from the special day at a later date.

This was something different for me to create, I am used to making big thick chunky books but I didn’t want to add to many pages because whenever I look at other guest books there is so many empty pages left…I wanted this book to feel full with photos and messages and not just half full and uncompleted.

What the Heck is Creative Living

Your life is your art. Creativity is a lifestyle.

Albert Einstein – “Imagination is more important than knowledge”

I love Albert, I love his quotes they really speck to me. Especially this one….

“Imagination is intelligence have fun”

So you can imagine how excited I was to bump into him at Madame Tussauds;

Me & Albert.jpg

Anyway to today’s blog post…

What is creative living?

I think there is a bit confusion around the subject of creative living, most people think that to live a creative life they must be an artist or an author, a singer or a dancer, or an actor or actress…when in fact…EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE is already living a creative life. Each and every one of us are born as creative beings. The only difference is that some create consciously and some create unconsciously.

The unconscious creators are;

The mothers cooking dinner for their toddlers, searching through the alphabet chips to find only the letters that spell out their little darling’s name…

The newlywed couple that carefully picks out the colours, curtains and furniture for their new home.

It’s the ritual you have when running a bath, it’s the routine you have when you get dressed, it’s the process you go through when writing your ‘to do…’ list.

Another misconception I think people have when they hear ‘creative living’ is that to live one they have to quit their jobs and go live their life like a hippie to follow their dreams.

It certainly doesn’t mean that…

(unless that’s your thing, it’s mine…am working on it)

It just means that you make room in your life for things that make you happy.

It’s about being mindful and living with purpose…on purpose.

It’s listening to and trusting your own wisdom and intuition.

It is inner peace, happiness and fulfilment.

It is to live in alignment with your core values.

It is looking at the world of being full of possibilities.

It is believing that you are here in this world to make a difference.

It is learning from and embracing life transitions.

It is having the courage to live your life exactly the way you want to live it.

It is following your inspiration – instead of following the crowd.

It’s a quest for Personal & Spiritual Development.

It is knowing that you consciously create your own life in each moment.

And it is having a more laid-back attitude to living.

Creative living is lots of things…but it is also a very individual thing! One person’s creative life will be completely different to the next person’s creative life.

I think it is all about being conscious of what you think and what you do… to become conscious, the first step is to learn to understand yourself and your own values. Finding out what you actually LOVE and what you most dislike… because how can you consciously live a creative life…if you don’t know what you truly enjoy.

To live YOUR kind of creative life, you have to start by getting to know yourself. Search deep within yourself to find what truly pushes your buttons. Find your passions in life. Start your journey of Self-Discovery today and start being the STAR of your own life. I won’t go into detail here because I have already wrote about it here…there is also a free download to 40 thought provoking journal prompt questions that will help you explore and understand yourself on a deeper level.

Thing’s to remember when Consciously living a creative life….

Believe in yourself – don’t wait for permission to live your life.

Continue to learn and grow – its OK to feel lost. Creativity is an irrational process. Just go with it.

Just have fun

Well that is all from me today, feel free to leave me a comment down below. I would love to know what you guys think?
